Launched in 2003, the Maxis Developer Programme (MDP) is the brainchild of Maxis CEO Dato' Jamaludin Ibrahim. The purpose of MDP is to assist the Malaysian mobile application developer community to build a solid foundation for understanding end-to-end mobile applications development from the technical, technology and commercial aspects within the mobile services industry.

Our Vision

MDP’s vision is to bring out the best in people and invite opportunities to harness even greater potential. MDP seeks to establish, encourage and equip innovators to build up a community of local mobile content and application developers. Believing that strong foundations today will lead to great achievements tomorrow, the MDP aims to provide a vast support network of knowledge sharing, mutual learning and interdependency to fuel the growth of the mobile industry.

The Focus Areas of the Programme

  • Building Enterpreneurships
    MDP assists Malaysian individuals and Malaysian companies who have the intention, drive and potential to excel in the mobility application industry.

  • Nurturing for Venture Creation
    MDP focuses on nurturing Malaysian mobile application developers in venture creations, i.e. from idea generation to design, development, commercialization, all the way to creating and developing a business.

  • Skills Development & Enrichment
    MDP is a repository of knowledge and a centre where Participants have the opportunity to develop their skills to gain that additional market advantage.

  • Commercialization Support
    MDP provides Participants advice and consultation on the best possible means to market their products and services. As an immediate first step, MDP provides a hosting platform for selected applications to be offered to Maxis subscribers under the 'created-in-Malaysia' banner; a direct go-to-market opportunity.

  • Preparations for Financial Asssistance Readiness
    MDP helps Participants in their preparation in planning to seek and apply for financial assistance from the industries' available sources such as Venture Capitalists.
 
 
 
MDP is an initiative by Maxis Multimedia Sdn. Bhd. (an MSC Status company), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Maxis Communications Berhad.
